Dig Safe North Idaho 811 uses One Call Concepts’ automated out-calling system, OTTO. He was created to deliver emergency notifications to facility owners that rely on a phone call to receive these notices.
Here’s how OTTO works:
After the ticket information is sent, OTTO calls the appropriate phone number from the notification center’s facility owner database.
OTTO communicates the ticket information to the affected utility owner.
The user can then choose to listen to some, part, or all of the locate request.
Unlike humans, OTTO can handle several outgoing calls at once. His only limitation is the number of computer ports and phone lines allocated.
